One of the unique traits that encompasses the Rio Grande Valley is its rich cultural influence. You can easily find many unique crafts, artists, local shops and international cuisines that make the RGV so intriguing anywhere at anytime. In honor of this vibrant culture and National Hispanic Heritage Month, McAllen Parks and Recreation is throwing its annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Saturday, September 17th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Las Palmas Community Center.
The Hispanic Heritage Celebration is jam-packed with activities and performances for the entire family to enjoy, like storytelling, crafts and face painting. Have you wanted to learn how to make those delicious and mouth-watering tortillas? On-site demonstrations will be available! Enjoy special performances by Las Palmas Ballet Folklorico and Conjunto Las Palmas.
Admission is $3 per adult, $2 for seniors and teens, and $1 for children 12 and under. No advance registration is required and payment is accepted on-site. Las Palmas Community Center is located at 1921 N. 25th Street.
