McAllen is a robust city full of shopping, restaurants, events and more. When in McAllen, you often hear about Nolana Ave., Ware Rd. and 10th St., but there are other places you can visit, explore and learn more about! This week, we’ll be exploring a few interesting places on Pecan Blvd!

Ms. G’s Tacos N’ More

In 1974, Ms. G (Gonzalez) opened her very first taco restaurant, El Pato Mexican Food, in McAllen. After selling the successful chain restaurant and spending some time away from the foodindustry, her daughter, Yolanda Gonzalez, took over with introducing a new generation to her family’s delicious tacos. Staying true to tradition, Ms. G’s still uses only the best and freshest ingredients while serving customers like they’re family. It’s because of this tradition that Ms. G’s is often regarded as offering the best tacos one will ever have. Tacos from Austin, San Antonio and Corpus Christi don’t stand a chance.
