Maestro Peter Dabrowski and the Valley Symphony Orchestra invites you to step into the magical movie era of Hollywood with familiar music from the movies you love in Hooray For Hollywood – VSO Concert IV the fourth major works symphonic masterpiece of the 2018-19 “SYMPHONY…That’s Entertainment,” season to be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 8:00 PM at the McAllen Performing Arts Center.
Hooray For Hollywood will stir up nostalgic feelings as you embark on the roller coaster ride down Hollywood Boulevard with music from motion picture movie blockbuster hits such as; Tara’s Theme from Gone With the Wind, Ben Hur, Dr. Zhivago, the main theme from Lawrence of Arabia, Gonna Fly Now from the motion picture Rocky, The Pink Panther, and The Way We Were by Grammy Award winner Jeff Tyzik. One of America’s most innovative and sought after pops conductors, recognized for his brilliant arrangements, original programming, and engaging rapport with audiences of all ages.
Experience an evening on the town with your significant other and relish in the fact that you were witness to the beautifully talented Russian pianist, Anastasia Dedik’s performance of George Gershwin’s, Rhapsody In Blue. The Valley Symphony Orchestra will turn on the cinematic wonder with music from The Magnficent Seven by Leonard Bernstein, Moon River by Henry Mancini and Tristan and Isolde by Richard Wagner.
