Clair’s Journey: Yoga for Runners at Yoga House RGV in McAllen

As an runner, I had always heard about the benefits of yoga for improving flexibility, balance, and mental clarity. And after running the half marathon at the The McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Run, I felt tightness and some pain in my hips. I knew it was time to take the plunge and explore Yoga House RGV to complement my training and I took advantage of their $20 unlimited classes for a week.

Classes I tried:

  • Yoga Flow with Mollie (Heated): A fluid and rhythmic practice that focused on breathwork and mobility, helping me improve my range of motion.
  • Yoga Flow with Mars (Heated): A slightly more intense variation that encouraged me to push my limits while maintaining mindfulness.
  • Yogalates with Anna (Heated): A fusion of yoga and Pilates that targeted core strength.
  • Sculpt Pilates with Jessica (Heated): This class incorporated resistance training, helping me build endurance and muscle tone.
  • Power Yoga with Ane (Heated): A high-energy session that challenged me physically, making me feel stronger and more resilient.

Things to note – They have an app that super seamless to sign up for classes. Classes do get full so sign up early! Also staff is incredibly friendly and helps with any questions you might have.

I know it was only a week but I noticed immediate improvements in my overall posture and felt muscles in my core that I swear didn’t even know I could feel. Beyond physical benefits, I found a newfound sense of mental clarity that helped me stay focused and present not only in my runs but also in daily life.

So no surprise! I became a member! Team Yoga House RGV.
