Josh Ward Live at Hillbilly’s
If you are a country music fan, you don’t want to miss this one! The special guest joining him onstage is Jake Worthington, Runner Up on Season 6 of NBC’s hit show The Voice. Tickets are available for $15 on Eventbrite.com or $20 at the door. The show starts at 8 PM and there is no reserved seating; first come, first serve.
Every 1st Saturday Block Party
The Collection of Shops at Upas Ave. & 11th St. will open their doors and expand their shops to the driveway every first Saturday of the month. Here you will find local crafters, artisans, vintage dealers, food trucks and a coffee shop! The event takes place from 11 AM – 4 PM and is family friendly. It’s the perfect way to shop small and enjoy a nice Saturday afternoon in McAllen.
Mujer RGV – The Workshop
This workshop is dedicated to all the female boss ladies in the area. For those that want to start their own business but don’t know where to start, this is the perfect workshop to attend. Several classes will take place as well as a social hour for networking. There will also be sweet and savory treats made by local Chef Raquel and lots of giveaways! Cookie Decorating Class – Birthday Basics
CC’s Sweets and Tweets is hosting a cookie decorating workshop Sunday, September 2nd at 1 PM! If you’ve always wanted to learn how to decorate cookies but haven’t had the chance to just yet, now is the perfect time. Tickets are $85 per person and you can purchase them online on Eventbrite.com.
Grain to Glass presents an evening full of jazz music from some local, talented musicians. The event starts at 6 PM and runs up until midnight. You can expect performances by Rio Cruzado, Red Light Lounge, and Gabriel Preusse Jazz Quartet. Jazz Fest is open to the public so round up some of friends and check it out together!
Teachers Loteria Night
To all the teachers making a difference in our future generations, this one’s for you. Make the most out of your three day weekend. You get to sleep in Monday morning and not work! Suerte Bar & Grill is having a Loteria night for teachers and you don’t want to miss out. There will be prizes in every round and it’s absolutely free. The prizes include supplies teachers need throughout the school year! There is also a special of the evening: $5 Nachos.
