Fiesta de Palmas is back and bigger than ever! Spend time at the McAllen Convention Center this Saturday and Sunday for a variety of events that the whole family can enjoy. Check out Karaoke Night at the McAllen Food Park on Friday and end Sunday at the dance party known as Sabrosonico! Read on to discover the many activities you can attend this weekend!
Friday, September 20th
- Make time to Boat & Fish on Town Lake at Firemen’s Park with your friends and family each day this weekend from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
- Join a Free Henna Class at Luna Coffee House from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM.
- Karaoke Night at the McAllen Food Park is from 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM.
- Celebrate National Pepperoni Pizza Day at Love Buzz from 10:00 PM until closing.

Saturday, September 21st
- Celebrate Batman Day with five Batman art-inspired workshops for kids and parents at Kaboom Comics from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM. There is an $8 participation fee. Click here to register.
- Fiesta de Palmas will take place on Saturday and Sunday at the McAllen Convention Center from 11:00 AM until 11:00 PM. There is a general admission fee of $5 per person. For the full schedule of events, please click here.
- Join the Mostacho 5K Run/Walk at Firemen’s Park beginning at 8:00 AM. There is a fee of $25 for adults, $15 for youth, and $10 for kids. Click here to register.
- Shop for unique products at the small home-based business expo known as Vendor Blender. This event will be held at The Grand Banquet & Conference Center from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
- Find fresh, organically-grown vegetables, fruits, baked goods, art, and so much more at the McAllen Farmers Market from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
- Practice Yoga at the McAllen Farmers Market from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
- Stop by the Paws for a Cause event held at the Worldwide Pet Products Factory Outlet from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
- As part of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, join Documentary & Discussion: El Movimiento Chicano at the McAllen Public Library. This will be held from 3:00 PM until 4:30 PM.
- The Pets & Pints event will be held at Brewsome Brewery from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Everyone is encouraged to bring their furbabies for a very special edition of Paint Your Pet! There is a fee of $41. Click here to register.
- Get ready to enjoy a delicious dinner, DJ dance party, games, and more at Mommy & Daughter Night Out! This event will be held at the Palm View Community Center from 6:00 PM until 9:30 PM. There is a $35 fee for one pair of tickets. Click here to purchase.
- Join the American Cancer Society’s Cattle Baron’s Ball at Sofie’s ‘SS’ Saloon from 6:30 PM until 11:30 PM. There is a fee of $125 for this fundraiser to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.
- Have an evening bike ride with Bike McAllen: Lawn Party Social Ride at 6:30 PM. Meet at the McAllen City Hall’s parking lot and finish at Southern Roots Flower Market for a Lawn Party!

Sunday, September 22nd
- Have an early morning bike ride at the Sunday Sapo Gravel Ride from 7:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Meet at La Plaza Mall’s Sun & Ski Sports.
- Celebrate the 209 Anniversary of the Independence of Mexico during Fiesta de Palmas at the McAllen Convention Center from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
- The Free Family Sunday Funday at the IMAS is scheduled from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
- The Valley Roots Series: Tlaxcalan Colonizers of Northern New Spain presentation will be held at the McAllen Public Library from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
- Bring your kids to the Baby Storytime event at the McAllen Public Library from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
- Spend your Sunday Funday evening at Bike Night at Whiskey Barrel Bar & Grill from 6:00 PM until 12:00 AM.
- Sabrosonico, McAllen’s premier cumbia and global bass dance party, will be held at The Landmark. Doors open at 7:00 PM and there will be free admission for people over 21 years of age.
