McAllen’s Fourth of July Extravaganza

88th Annual Independence Day Celebration

The sky will be filled with monumental blasts of color and light celebrating our nation’s birthday. Families will unite to witness a unique Fourth of July firework extravaganza, dubbed the “Concert in the Sky.” This Fourth of July will be more than just fireworks, however, as it will also be a day filled with entertainment, festivities, music, food, games, arts and crafts, and the Annual Independence Day Parade!

What to Expect

The fun-filled day starts at 8:00 AM with the Patriotic Program and performance by the McAllen Town Band at Archer Park honoring members of the United States armed forces. The Main Street Parade follows at 9:00 AM. Viewers can catch the parade from the Downtown trail from Houston Avenue to Cedar Street north from City Hall, all along to Main Street to Archer Park. It’s an exciting parade that showcases floats made by members of the community and local marching bands.

Starting at 9:00 AM community members can also take part in the Freedom Festival at Archer Park. Family-friendly entertainment like local music performances, games and food will be provided. People of all ages can participate in thrilling challenges like the Hot Dog Eating Contest and more.

Afternoon festivities will take place at the McAllen Municipal Park where children can take a dip in the Municipal Pool to cool off during the Aquatic Splash Bash. This awesome pool party features more activities for children. The festivities will also feature a Kiddie Carnival open to the public for more fun and games.

As the sun sets, community members will gather around to witness the magical Concert in the Sky Fireworks Extravaganza, which highlights the Independence Day celebration.
