The ceremony will take place on Monday, November 28th at 6:30 PM. Musical entertainment will be provided, highlighting the event with Christmas cheer. The grand tree will be on display for the public to enjoy throughout December. Already a popular location to visit at Palms Crossings, this attraction will make the holiday season even more magical!

Holiday Activities Throughout December

The fun-filled calendar of holiday activities in McAllen’s Oval Park this December include the McAllen Holiday Express Train and Pedal Boat Rides that will be available throughout the month for all ages. The fun-sized train will travel around Oval Park with views of the beautiful water’s features, sparkling Christmas lights throughout the park and the majestic Christmas tree itself. The fee for pedal boat rides is $5 per person.

The McAllen Convention Center and the McAllen Public Library will also be hosting “A Very Merry Story Time at Oval Park”, a series of children’s book readings to be held Saturdays and Sundays throughout December. Each scheduled story time will feature holiday themed readings with fun, interactive songs, dancing and get-on-your-feet excitement for everyone.

On Saturday, December 10th, the McAllen Public Library will be featuring selections from their electronic book collection at 4:30 PM. Come for “A Very Merry Story Time” and stay for “Sunset Live” which will feature live music, food, an artisan market and much more.

A Very Merry Story Time will end on December 18th with a reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. We invite you to cozy up for a reading of this classic holiday story in your favorite Christmas pajamas.
