It’s that spooky time of year again where creepy creatures appear and candy flows! Get your costumes ready because Halloween will be here before you know it. With just enough spookiness for kids to enjoy, McAllen and surrounding areas will be hosting various events, celebrations and treats for the whole family!

RGV Nights: Fall Festival on October 21st

Hands in Art Studio | 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Enjoy a night of music, art, handmade crafts and local food! Shop local entrepreneurs, artists and artisans who specialize in ceramics, crocheting, jewelry and much more. We will have fall activities throughout the night!

Mission Historical Museum | 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Join the Mission Historical Museum to celebrate Dia de los Muertos with a Community Altar Exhibit! There will be music, food, dancing and family fun! Dia de los Muertos apparel is strongly encouraged. This event is free to the public!

McHi Fall Market Day on October 22nd

McAllen High School | 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Stop by and shop with over 75 available vendors for arts, handmade gifts/crafts, clothes, bows, jewelry, other fine items and student organization booth activities. Taste the #local flavors of our various food trucks or stop in for a game of Lóteria, all for a good cause! Bingo/Lóteria will be held inside the cafeteria; gift/item donations will be needed (max $20 prizes). This fundraiser is to benefit the McHi Boys Basketball Booster. One day only and no rainy day reschedules.

Jack-O-Lantern Pumpkin Carving on October 29th

Las Palmas Community Center | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Carve the coolest pumpkin on your block! Learn tips and techniques to create your very own masterpiece. All skill levels and ages invited and it’s only $3 per pumpkin carver (tools and designs included). Be sure to bring your own pumpkin! Registration deadline is October 24th. Halloween Bash on October 29th

The International Museum of Art & Science | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Come dressed in your favorite costume at IMAS! This event will be complete with spooky scavenger hunts, food trucks, face painting and science projects. Don’t forget about the many prizes to be won! This even will be fun for the entire family and just in time for Halloween!

Día de los Muertos – Panteón: A Vigil for Souls on October 29th

Museum of South Texas History | 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM

New this year for Día de los Muertos at MOSTHistory is the panteón – a way to celebrate the lives of those who have passed on. Expect traditional music, food, artisans and much more! The featured artist will be Alex Reyes, who will include Día de los Muertos theme pastels and acrylics. Learn more about Día de los Muertos through hands-on activities including face painting, sugar skull decorating, paper flower making and so much more!

Learn all about how to celebrate the lives of those who have departed through hands-on activities and so much more!

McAllen Halloween Festival & Haunted Pool on October 31st

Municipal Park & Pool | 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Get ready for some safe fun for the entire family! There will be free admission to games for chances to win candy and prizes. Enjoy music, food and costumes. There will be a $2 admission price per person for haunted boat rides and inflatable fun.
