Still not sure which activities to attend with your family on Halloween? We’ve complied another list of great events going on in and around McAllen. Attend one, two or all of them. We promise that you’ll have a blast at any of them!

Pumpkins for Paws on October 22nd

Grain to Glass | 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Bring the family out this Sunday and carve some pumpkins with Grain to Glass! Help raise some money for Mercy 4 the Voiceless Animal Sanctuary! For a $5 donation, you will get a pumpkin and all the carving tools you’ll need to carve it however you want! Grain to Glass will also be accepting cat and dog food to help the shelter. Information for adoptions will be available. This will be a pet- and family-friendly event.

Halloween Fun from October 24th through the 31st

Bass Pro Shop

For those of you in Harlingen, Bass Pro Shop is having some great tricks, treats and crafts! Take a picture with the Peanuts Gang, have your face painted and on Halloween, enjoy trick-or-treating along with a costume parade!

UTRGV Athletics Trunk-or-Treat on October 27th

UTRGV Soccer and Track Field Complex | 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Fans who attend Trunk-or-Treat will receive free entry to the UTRGV vs. Incarnate Word game. Admission is free for both events prior to 6:30 PM. There will be candy, games and activities for children to enjoy at nearly 20 different trunk sites. Valley Metro will host a Haunted Bus on-location, while ROTC will host its Rock Wall.

Not-So-Scary Halloween Jump on October 27th and the 30th

Pump It Up McAllen

The 6th Annual Not-So-Scary Halloween Jump at Pump it Up McAllen is just another event to look forward to! The facility will be decked out with Halloween inflatables and decorations! There will also be games, costume contests, face painting, treats and food! There will be two sessions; one on Thursday, October 27th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and the second on Sunday, October 30th from 5:15 PM to 7:15 PM.

Admission is $20 and a pizza dinner and treats will be included. There will also be free admission for one adult per party, but a $5 fee will be charged for any additional adults. Advance reservation is required.

Spooktacular Event on October 29th

New Horizons Family Dentistry of Mission | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Calling all superheroes, ghouls and ghosts! Come take a picture with Batman in Mission! This fun-filled family event will have face painting, treats and music!

17th Street’s Tricks & Treats for the Kids on October 31st

McAllen’s Downtown Entertainment District | 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM

The second annual tricks and treats for the kids event will be held in downtown McAllen. Several restaurants, clubs and bars will join forces to hand out candies and goodies! Feel free to bring your pets in costume as well! There will be a pet resting/drinking area at Thirsty Monkey’s patio.

Participating businesses include Mezzanine, Lit Night Club, The Patio on Guerra, Midnight Club, OMG Shot Bar, Barzelona Disco Bar, DB Lounge, YES Shot Bar, Frat House, Suerte Bar & Grill, Thirsty Monkey, My Bar, Brewskis and TRES.

Alamo’s Annual Fall Festival on October 31st

Alamo Central Park | 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Kiddie rides, music, food vendors, costume contests and plenty of candy are to be expected at this event! Also, don’t miss the Alamo Fire Department haunted house!

Trick-or-Treat Trail at the McAllen Public Library on October 31st

Main Branch at the McAllen Public Library | 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Parents, your kids won’t want to miss walking the McAllen Public Library’s Trick-or-Treat Trail on Halloween! All children will receive a map to follow throughout the library that’ll take them to different service desks in search of candy! The first 250 participants will receive a cute candy bag! Be sure and wear your costume! This event is for children in the 5th grade and younger!
