The International Museum of Art & Science has been a cultural center for over half a century in the heart of McAllen, Texas. As it has grown its mission to promote appreciation for both the arts and sciences, its permanent and rotating art collections have remained a source of inspiration for all who visit.
Visitors to the IMAS can look forward to interacting even more with the collection and galleries with special activities taking place every Friday in the art galleries.
Get inspired by our exhibits and let’s draw! Bring your own sketchbook and pencils or use our materials. Only dry mediums are permitted. In-gallery drawing is now open to visitors every Friday, recommended for ages 6 and up with accompanying adults.
In addition, visitors can join a gallery tour on Fridays at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Gain insight and perspective on the art that fills the gallery walls.
On exhibit now are Erica Daborn’s Dialogues with Mother Earth, Highlights of the Permanent Collection, Mexican and Latin American Folk Art, and Sharyland ISD’s Unified Through the Arts Exhibit. Opening August 10, 2019, is Turmoil & Tranquility. The array of mediums and styles are bound to appeal to the artist in you. For the most current list of exhibits, visit the exhibits page.
