The McAllen Stair Climb was established to provide a memorial event for the firefighters and first responders that lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Participants will endure a 110 floor climb to symbolize the number of floors of the world trade center towers. Each will wear the a tag with the name and photo of a fallen first responder.
The mission of the McAllen Stair Climb is to deliver a memorial event providing Lower Rio Grande Valley and South Texas emergency responders and the general public an opportunity to collectively remember the events of September 11, 2001, honor the actions and sacrifices of the New York responders on that day, as well as recognize and honor the sacrifices of local first responders who have died in the performance of their duty during the past year in Texas.
