Independence 4k Run

July 4th | 7:00 AM

Spend your Fourth of July celebration at the pool! This fun event is for everyone and includes games, contests, crafts, music and more!

Patriotic Program

July 4th | 8:00 AM | Archer Park

Take an opportunity to reflect and recognize the true meaning of Independence Day. This unique ceremony will recognize past and present service members and feature a concert from the McAllen Town Band.

Main Street Parade

July 4th | 9:00 AM | Main Street (from Houston Ave. to Beech Ave.)

Celebrate America’s Independence during the annual Main Street Parade. Patriotic groups, marching bands, entertainers, businesses, civic clubs, and organizations are encouraged to participate!

Freedom Festival

July 4th | 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Archer Park

There’s something for everyone at this event, including arts and crafts, games, music, concession stands, and plenty of fun for the whole family!

Aquatica Extravaganza

July 4th  | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM |  McAllen Municipal Pool

$2.50 per entry

Its going to be full of splashing good fun! Soak in the sun and take a dip at the Municipal Pool.

Concert in the Sky Fireworks Extravaganza

July 4th | 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM | *fireworks start at 9pm* McAllen Municipal Park

This will be the highlight of the Fourth of July celebration! Don’t miss the annual Concert in the Sky fireworks extravaganza over the City of McAllen!

The City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Department is accepting entries for this year’s festivities. We invite businesses, civic and youth groups, and nonprofit organizations to participate in the parade and other events. All entries should feature a patriotic theme.
