This year’s Halloween festivities in McAllen will be a little different, to say the least. With that said, the Halloween in McAllen will adapt to our current situation, bringing a safe environment for all ghouls and goblins! Check them out below!

The following events will be hosted by McAllen Parks and Recreation. Times will vary.

Fright Nite 5K Virtual Run

Sign up for this frightfully fun 5K run at the McAllen Parks website. Each runner will receive a finisher medal, shirt, and bib. Register before October 31st.

Pop Up Photo Party

Themed photo backdrops will be placed throughout the city for participants to capture their Halloween photos. Two dates will be announced soon.

Pumpkin Carving Contest

Show off your carving skills and submit your designs now until October 22nd by clicking here. Virtual voting will take place on October 24th. It’s also FREE!

Quinta Mazatlán’s Sticks and Stones Trail Theme

October 15th Through November 14th

Quinta Mazatlán’s Sticks and Stones Trail Theme

With perfect photo ops and a little bit of spooks sprinkled throughout the trail, the Quinta Mazatlán World Birding Center is bringing us their Sticks and Stones Trail! It’ll be held from Tuesday until Saturday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Located at 600 Sunset Dr.

October 23rd

St. Paul Lutheran Church’s Social Distant Pumpkin Carving

The Social Distant Pumpkin Carving event will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church’s soccer field. This is a socially-distant pumpkin carving bonanza similar to a picnic – but with a Halloween twist! Bring your own pumpkin and carving supplies. Instructions and patterns will be provided. It’ll be held between 3:45 PM and 7:15 PM. Located at 300 Pecan Blvd.

Harley Davidson’s Trunk or Treat

Bring the family to Desperado Harley-Davidson’s Trunk or Treat event for a family-friendly day of fun, treats, and cool Harleys! It’ll be held between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM at 1201 S. Bentsen Rd. If you’d like to participate, then register your “trunk” by October 23rd at 6:00 PM by giving them a call at (956) 687-4646.

Kickin’ Axes’ Halloween Axe Night

You’re in for an axeciting time at Kickin’ Axes’ Halloween Axe Night! Throw some axes and celebrate Halloween with door prizes and a costume contest! Make your reservations by calling (956) 843-0784! Bring your own beer, and outside food is allowed! Will be held between 3:00 PM and midnight. Located at 1017 Shasta Ave.

Southern Roots Flower Market and Rep Shop’s Octoberfest at the Market

An amazing lineup of local vendors showcasing amazing products will be available at Octoberfest at the Market, hosted by Southern Roots Flower Market and Rep Shop. Come in a costume to be entered in their giveaway! This event will be held between 12:30 PM and 5:30 PM at 1407 N. Main St.

South Texas Juvenile Diabetes Association’s Drive Thru Trunk or Treat

South Texas Juvenile Diabetes Association’s Drive Thru Trunk or Treat

The South Texas Juvenile Diabetes Association will be hosting a FREE Drive Thru Trunk or Treat

event for the community. Don’t forget to also enter their costume contest between October 26th and October 30th by submitting your pictures! This event will take place between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM at McAllen Elks Lodge #1402. For more information, contact info@stjda.org or call (956) 627-5594.
