Friday, January 17th

Drive-in Nights at the McAllen Convention Center

Experience movie-going the old-fashioned way at Drive-in Nights! Bring the family to the McAllen Convention Center where 80s classic Back to the Future will be screened! Admission is free and the movie starts at 7:30 PM.

Saturday, January 18th

The McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Memorial Run 

Are you ready for #RunMcAllen? The McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Memorial Run will begin at 7:00 AM with the Kids Final Mile, 5K, and 10K runs at the McAllen Convention Center.

The McAllen Marathon Health Expo 

The City of McAllen and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the Health Expo on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM at the McAllen Convention Center. Admission is free and the expo will have health providers, clinics, medical suppliers, nutritionists, and much more!

The Webelos Workshop: Earth Rocks!

Become a geologist as you hunt for rocks, learn about the geographical features of the Rio Grande Valley, and test mineral hardness. The Webelos Workshop: Earth Rocks! will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the IMAS. Click here to register.

The Winter Texan Workshop at the IMAS

To all Winter Texans looking to learn new art skills and socialize, stop by and explore the history of landscape paintings at the Winter Texan Workshop at the IMAS! Participants will also paint their own landscapes with acrylics. The workshop will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM.

The McAllen Farmer’s Market

Stop by the McAllen Public Library between 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM for the chance to purchase locally-grown produce, free-range farm eggs, natural honey, and a variety of baked goods at the McAllen Farmer’s Market!

DeCarlo Live at the Cine El Rey

Visit the historic Cine El Rey for a live performance from the lead vocalist of the legendary band Boston, Tommy DeCarlo! The Ratchet Dolls will also be performing. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Click here for tickets.

Sleeping Village Live at Simon Sez

Black Sabbath Tribute band Sleeping Village is back and will be performing classic Black Sabbath tracks at Simon Sez located at 2007 Orchid Ave. Tickets will be available at the door.

Sunday, January 19th

McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Memorial Run

Day 2 of the McAllen Marathon kicks off at 7: 00 AM with the five-person relay marathon, the half marathon, and the full marathon. The McAllen Marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon, so good luck to all participants!

Daisy Girl Scouts: Space Science Explorer at the IMAS  

Girl scouts, put your spacesuits on and get ready to explore the Sun, Moon, and the stars! Learn how to use space tools to get a closer look at what’s in the sky. The Space Science Explorer workshop will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the IMAS. Click here to register.
