Mark your planners for a weekend full of things to do in McAllen! Start your Friday evening with the Art Walk on Main street, spend Saturday morning with free yoga at the McAllen Farmers Market, and end Sunday with some laughs at Alan Saldaña’s comedy show! Friday, September 6th
- Explore the McAllen Public Library during their Toy Story Scavenger Hunt from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
- The South Texas International Baseball Classic will be held at the McAllen Youth Baseball Complex each day this weekend from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. There is a fee of $100 per team registration. Click here to register.
- Make time for Boat & Fish on Town Lake at Firemen’s Park each day this weekend from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
- Visit the 7th Annual Frida in Red Group Art Exhibition at Hinovations Art Gallery between 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The exhibition’s opening reception will be packed with original artwork, performances, and community involvement.
- Discover local artists and vendors at the First Friday at the Art Village on Main at McAllen Stained Glass from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
- Enjoy a night full of art during the Fall 2019 Art Walk at the McAllen Creative Incubator from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Saturday, September 7th
- Try Tai Chi at the McAllen Nature Center from 8:00 AM until 9:00 AM. There is a suggested donation fee of $1 per participant.
- Back to the Gridiron 5K Run/Walk & Tailgate at Firemen’s Park will begin at 8:00 AM.
- Have a nice stroll around the McAllen Nature Center and learn about a variety of butterflies! The Beginners Butterfly Walk will take place between 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. There is a suggested donation of $1 for park admission.
- Block Party at the Shops at Upas & 11th will be held from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
- Auditions for Colibri Children’s Choir at the McAllen Creative Incubator is set from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
- Practice Yoga at the McAllen Farmers Market from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
- Redimi2 will perform live at the McAllen Convention Center beginning at 6:30 PM. Click here to purchase tickets.
- Alter Egos by Mujer RGV will be held at Yerberia Cultura beginning at 8:00 PM. There is a $5 donation-based entry fee at the door.

Sunday, September 8th
- Have an early morning bike ride at the Sunday Sapo Gravel Ride from 7:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Meet at La Plaza Mall’s Sun & Ski Sports.
- The McAllen Stair Climb will begin at 7:00 AM at the McAllen Neuhaus Tower. It was established to provide a memorial event for the firefighters and first responders that lost their lives on September 11, 2001. There is a $45 fee to participate. Click here to register.
- Join Beer Yoga at The Yard from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. There is a $25 fee. Click here to register.
- AR Sociales Wedding & Quinceañera Expo will be held at the McAllen Convention Center from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM. General admission is $10 at the door.
- Free Family Sunday Funday at the IMAS is scheduled from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
- Celebrate Grandparents Day at the IMAS from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
- Bring your kids to the Baby Storytime event at the McAllen Public Library from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
- Bring your friends to Bike Night at Whiskey Barrel Bar & Grill from 6:00 PM until 12:00 AM for food, live music, and karaoke.
