This coming weekend will be full of family-friendly events! Enjoy the Texas Hunter’s and Sportsman’s Expo all weekend long, Movies in the Park on Saturday, and a live performance from Caravana Del Amor on Sunday. Check these and many more events out below!
Friday, July 19th
- Test your photography skills at Photo Fun Fridays at Quinta Mazatlán from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Park admission is $3.00.
- Stop by the Texas Hunter’s & Sportsman’s Expo at the McAllen Convention Center from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. This event will also be held from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM on Saturday and from 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM on Sunday. Admission prices are $12.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors, and free for children 12 and under.
- Intro to Poi (Art of Fire-Spinning) will take place at the McAllen Nature Center from 6:15 PM until 7:00 PM. A donation of $1.00 per participant is suggested.
- Join Sunset Yoga at the McAllen Nature Center from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There is a suggested donation of $1.00.
- Have some laughs at Friday Night Funnies: Christmas in July Edition at London Grill & Tavern from 8:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Pre-sale tickets are available online for $6.00. Click here to purchase.
Saturday, July 20th
- Have a Beginner’s Butterfly Walk at the McAllen Nature Center from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. There is a suggested donation of $1.00.
- The Joy Texas Pop Culture Mini-Convention at the Old Church Winery is planned from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Children 12 and under get in free and the general admission cost is $5.00. Click here to purchase.
- Have fun with summer trees at Nature Nuggets at Quinta Mazatlán from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Park admission is $3.00.
- Andy Warhol Batman Pop Art Workshop for Kids + Parents at Kaboom Comics is scheduled from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. The admission cost is $8.00 per participant.
- Summer Artisan Market at the McAllen Farmer’s Market will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
- Enjoy Yoga at the McAllen Farmer’s Market from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
- Summer Melon Mash-Up Cooking Demo with Chef Lupita & Art will be held at the McAllen Farmer’s Market from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM.
- Learn about the Rio Grande Valley’s native cacti during Creature Feature: Secrets of the Prickly Pear at Quinta Mazatlán from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM. There is a fee of $3.00.
- Enjoy live music, art, and more at the Summer Nights Pop-ups at Uncommon Grounds from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
- Make time for Movies in the Park: Incredibles 2 at Westside Park – Ballfield 2 from 7:00 PM until 10:30 PM. This is a free event!
- Waikiki Tiki ROOF Pop-Up at Roof 324 will have live music from DJ KAFKR from 7:00 PM until 2:00 AM.
- Join Fast Eddy’s Tavern for the Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman fight night watch party from 8:00 PM until 11:00 PM.
- Enjoy The Cure Tribute: Boys Don’t Cry 80’s Concert at Cine El Rey from 8:30 PM until 2:00 AM. General admission is $20 per person.

Sunday, July 21st
- Free Family Sunday Funday will happen at the IMAS from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
- Art in the Park is scheduled to take place at the McAllen Nature Center from 7:15 PM until 8:15 PM.
- Dance the night away at Sabrosonico w/ Gracie Chavez, Ariel & The Culture, and more at Yerberia Cultura from 5:00 PM until 12:30 AM.
- Caravana Del Amor will be performing at the McAllen Performing Arts Center beginning at 7:00 PM. Click here to purchase tickets.
